Tianjin is north-eastern China's largest commercial, industrial and logistical centre, and Beijing's gateway to the sea. USD$6billion has been invested in infrastructure to strengthen the integration with Beijing and further open communication corridors with surrounding cities. Tianjin has a major rail infrastructure, with lines including the Jinghu Railway (connecting Beijing and Shanghai) and Jingha Railway (connecting Beijing and Harbin) amongst others. Additionally the new Tianjin-Beijing express rail service will be the fastest of its kind in the country, with a travelling time between the two cities of just thirty minutes. |
